On Having Passions

Passion, I think, is an important substance to have. Whether you dedicate this passion to the arts, to academics, to community work or even to another person, to have passion means to be filled with so great an emotion for something that it entices you to act -- it inspires you to do. And it is not something you can easily wrap your head around, either. Passion is something you feel with your entire being and in a way, it helps clarify your existence; it proves that what you're feeling, right here and right now, isn't simply a figment of your imagination. You won't wake up one day and realize that what you've been experiencing is just a dream because nothing and no one has the right to steal your passions from you.
